Hot Summer Days ( and nights) - in the library

There is a song in Hebrew:" Nothing happens In the Hot Summer nights "
... not true in my case!
( Still is a  beautiful song)

This is my first post after ages! A lot has happened here but not on line.
 I'll try to show some!
We are in the middle of summer. August the heaviest month of the year awaits me with the rest of us Israelis and Mediterraneans.
It realy is the hottest, most humid month of the year. When September comes, we see some hope and yearn for automn.
And so, I think of India or some other tropical climates, where there are some  gentlemen of the old school left, with their fans and scotch  and lots of books and African/south American / Asian  memorabilia.

I designed a somewhat conseptual space , it took a long time to choose the right photos.I do not take time how long it takes....
The flooring, the stairs and some of the wall "dressing"  are my neighbor contibution.
He makes wine- and uses these Australian oak squares for when the wine is flavored.
I just rinsed them and set of to work.

I really wanted it "shabby chick " , did I make it? I wonder.
I turned this hutch into shabby - at the break of dawn.....
The book shelves on the right are Patie Jonson of http://www.etsy.com/shop/minisx2
I adore her work!

Thanks your kind words! The lamp was bought in one of London's airports. It's not cheap.I wanted it for such a long time,so I spent the money gladly.

  5. Wow! You've done a marvellous job here.
The library has a masculine touch. I love the bit of disorder you created it makes a very realistic scene.
I also love Mati Caspi and this particular song.

  6. Neomi, what a great scene, again! All those details are just so evocative of a book lover's den. A real eclectic haven for all who loves to read :). You have such a wonderful collection of furniture too. Your choices of the right pictures for the various bookshelves are key to making this room so authentic! This is a really good idea which I may try out in one of my book box when I want to also make a reading den for a friend :)

Welcome back!! I hope you are well and hope to see more from you, but I think we all understand how busy it gets. :D

  8. Neomi,
Is this the same as your anglepoise lamp?

This one on amazon is cream, but yours looks like it's white. Did you see them in different colors?

I know Shopping Sherpa and MiniModern have this lamp in red and black, but I haven't seen yours in white, I want it. :D
